We are in the second largest bay in the whole country. Second most visited ecotourism spot in all of Paraná, the Ilha do Mel has a good infrastructure of guesthouses and restaurants. Next to it is the Ilha das Peças, which is home to traditional fishing communities and also offers tourist services, besides being an excellent place to watch Guiana dolphins and Guaras. The Superagui Island became detached from the continent after the creation of the Varadouro Canal, which connects to the southern coast of São Paulo.

Here lives the black-faced lion tamarin, an endangered and charismatic primate. The visitor can enjoy tours, simple lodges, and excellent cuisine. Look for tours that take you to the Ilha do Pinheiro (Pine Island), one of the main sleeping places of the red-tailed amazon, which enchant with their flocking during the dawn and dusk. At the end of the bay is the Ilha Rasa, home to traditional caiçara communities, presenting a unique combination of landscapes and wildlife.

This gateway also gives access to oceanic islands, such as the Ilhas dos Currais – a National Marine Park that has diving activities for visitors, making it possible for them to get close to the grouper fish. They can all be reached from Paranaguá or Pontal do Paraná and, alternatively, from Guaraqueçaba or the southern coast of São Paulo.
